Dietmar Gnedt, educator, librarian and writer, lives and works in Petzenkirchen, Lower Austria.
He is the founder of the literature groups "Black Ink" and "Linienspiegel" as well as a member of the IG Authors Group, the Austrian Writers' Association and the PEN International Association.
At the "Vienna Workshop Prize for Literature", edition 2000, he took third place in the audience ranking and in 2011 received the "Forum Land Literature Prize". In 2014 he was awarded the "Italian Mario Rigoni Stern Prize" for the novel The Legacy of Domenico Minetti.
He is the creator of projects such as "aqua mediterran" in collaboration with the writer Milo Dor and "The Domenico Minetti's Legacy", a scenic adaptation based on the same novel: numerous stage projects and readings were carried out in Austria, Italy and Germany.
His texts were broadcast on the radio programs of ORF, ERF and Radio Africa and published in various newspapers and magazines.
